"OSHA’s HAZCOM standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) for General Industry was the 3rd most cited standard for fiscal year 2009. With so many citations, why aren’t more companies getting the message and achieving compliance?"

ANSWER: Same reason that althought #3 in frequency, Hazcom didn't crack the Top 10 in highest penalty amount....it would seem there is little regard for this standard as far as severity of the hazard! With most Hazcom citations falling under "other than serious" criteria the $$ amount averages $200, if there is a $$ amount applied at all.

next question please!
