OSHA Releases It’s Most Comprehensive Chemical Database

OSHA recently released it’s most comprehensive online database for workplace chemicals, to date.  Including data from multiple sources (government agencies, NGO, etc.), the Occupational Chemical Database provides information on:

  • Chemical and physical properties
  • Permissible exposure limits (PELs) and occupational exposure limits (OELs)
  • Sampling information (air, wipe, etc.)
  • Synonyms
  • Health factors
  • Additional resources
  • Sorting capability by: PEL, carcinogens, IDLH values
  • Search the database by name, synonym, or CAS number

This database will prove useful for industrial hygiene and safety professionals looking for a more comprehensive resource from OSHA.  Acetone example is provided below.
